Nashua Center
Community Advocacy Network (CAN)

Together, We CAN

What is CAN?

Advocacy is an essential part of Nashua Center’s mission. Supporting independence means more than just providing services—it means making sure individuals with disabilities have a voice, access to resources, and opportunities to thrive.

Nashua Center’s  Community Advocacy Network (CAN) brings together families, caregivers, and staff to stay informed, take action, and promote meaningful change. Through CAN, we follow important issues, speak up for better policies, and work toward a stronger, more inclusive community.

What CAN we do?

CAN is about action. By bringing together families, caregivers, and staff, we amplify voices and push for positive change. We:

  • Advocate for Better Policies – Work to influence local and state decisions that impact individuals with disabilities.
  • Raise Awareness – Educate the community about key issues, ensuring they stay in the conversation.
  • Share Resources – Connect people with the information and support they need.
  • Create Opportunities for Engagement – Offer ways to participate in discussions, events, and initiatives that lead to real change.

Through CAN, advocacy turns into impact. By working together, we make sure the needs of individuals with disabilities are not just heard—but addressed.

Why join CAN?

CAN is more than just an advocacy group—it’s a movement to create meaningful change. By joining, you become part of a network dedicated to strengthening opportunities and rights for individuals with disabilities. Through CAN, you CAN:

  • Stay Informed – Get the latest updates on policies and issues that affect individuals with disabilities.
  • Take Action – Support advocacy efforts that influence decision-making at local and state levels.
  • Connect & Collaborate – Engage with families, caregivers, and staff who share your commitment to change.
  • Make a Difference – Help drive discussions and solutions that lead to better resources, policies, and opportunities.

How you CAN get involved.

CAN holds quarterly meetings where we discuss key advocacy topics, share updates, and explore ways to create positive change. Whether you want to be an active voice in advocacy or simply stay informed, your participation helps makes a difference.

How You CAN Spread Awareness

Advocacy is most powerful when information reaches the right people. By following Nashua Center on social media, sharing updates, and staying engaged, you can help spread awareness about important issues affecting individuals with disabilities.
