The Nashua Center was founded in 1974 by a small group of concerned parents of children with severe/multiple disabilities in need of services. Incorporated in 1976 as Nashua Center for the Multiply Handicapped, Inc., the Center has built a reputation for providing high quality care to many individuals throughout Southern New Hampshire. The Center presently provides services in four major areas; Early Intervention for children birth to three, vocational day services for adults with developmental or acquired disabilities, residential options for children and adults with developmental or acquired disabilities, and in-home companion care for elder and chronically ill adults

Mission Statement

The Nashua Center is committed to providing the highest quality of specialized care and support to each individual served while promoting growth in independence.

All people deserve to be valued members of their communities. The Nashua Center provides support and services to individuals of all ages that include but are not limited to:
     - Finding and/or providing safe and caring places to live.
     - Developing and encouraging daily activities and experiences that are meaningful and fulfilling.
     - Initiating and promoting opportunities for social interaction and relationship building.
     - Teaching useful skills to increase independence.
     - Educating community members-at-large, employers and organizations about differences in people.
